Outdoor Learning Activity Leader

£13.50 per hour - Part Time & Casual Positions Available

Twechar Outdoor Pursuits Centre are looking for enthusiastic Outdoor Learning Activity Leaders to join our growing team.

This role supports the delivery of high‑quality, inclusive outdoor experiences for young people, schools, families, and the wider community. We are seeking individuals who are reliable, positive, and passionate about helping others build confidence and enjoy the outdoors. About the Role

As an Outdoor Learning Activity Leader, you’ll play a hands‑on role in supporting the delivery of engaging, inclusive sessions across our full range of outdoor activities. Your work will be varied — some days you’ll be assisting with paddlesports, cycling, axe throwing, or bushcraft; on others, you’ll be supporting the smooth running of the centre through reception duties, visitor support, and general operational tasks. You’ll work closely with our team to help create a safe, welcoming environment for schools, families, community groups, and individuals. This role suits someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in practical settings, and is confident adapting to a busy, ever‑changing centre

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of safe, engaging outdoor learning activity sessions

  • Support setup, pack‑down, and equipment maintenance

  • Provide excellent customer service to participants and visitors

  • Undertake reception duties, including greeting visitors, answering enquiries, and supporting bookings

  • Contribute to general centre upkeep, cleaning, and preparation of activity spaces

  • Maintain high standards of safety, safeguarding, and professionalism

  • Represent the values and ethos of Twechar Outdoor Pursuits Centre

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience delivering or leading activities

  • Positive, reliable, and proactive attitude

  • Confidence working with children, young people, and the public

  • Experience in outdoor centres, youth work, or community settings

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Commitment to safety, inclusion, and high‑quality activity delivery

  • Paddlesport Qualification (or experience, we are happy to support you in getting a qualification!)

  • 16-hour First Aid,

  • Safeguarding Training

Desirable

  • Relevant outdoor qualifications (RCI/PSI/PSL etc)

  • Experience in other relevant activity areas

  • Experience driving a minibus

  • PVG membership

Hours & Pay

  • Part‑time, flexible hours including evenings and weekends

  • £13.50 per hour (Scottish Real Living Wage)
