Little Explorers

Part of our Access to Adventure Programme

Little Explorers gives children the chance to discover the outdoors, make new friends, develop confidence, and enjoy exciting adventures in a safe, supportive environment.

Each session includes a mix of bushcraft, nature exploration, outdoor skills, creative challenges and age-appropriate activities, all led by our experienced and qualified instructors.

Designed specifically for younger adventurers, Little Explorers encourages curiosity, teamwork, resilience and a love of the natural world through fun, hands-on experiences throughout the year.

Our explorers might spend one session searching for minibeasts and building woodland shelters, then be off following treasure trails, learning campfire skills or embarking on a mini adventure around the local area. Every session is different, with plenty of opportunities to learn, explore, create and have fun outdoors.

🧒 Who Can Attend

To take part in the Little Explorers, young people must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: 5-8 — Sessions are designed specifically for children aged 5 to 8 years.

  • Parent/carer onsite — A parent or guardian must arrive with the young person and remain onsite for the full duration of the activity.

  • Confirmed booking — Only participants with a pre‑booked space can take part. We cannot accept on‑the‑day sign‑ups.

  • Appropriate conduct — Participants must be able to follow instructions and engage safely. If we have reason to believe a young person is under the minimum age or unable to meet participation requirements, they will not be permitted to join the session.

🎒 What to Bring

Please ensure your young adventure comes prepared, they will need a minimum of:

  • Weather‑appropriate outdoor clothing (we can provide waterproofs)

  • Water bottle

  • Please avoid bringing valuables or mobile phones - we will ask that all phones that are bought along are left inside a locker for the duration of the day.

🤝Behaviour Expectations

We aim to create a positive, welcoming environment where every young person feels safe, included, and able to take part. We expect all participants to show respect for staff, other young people, equipment, and the natural environment. Our team will support children who feel nervous, unsure, or need help settling in. If any behaviour affects safety or the experience of others, participants will be asked to sit out.

🩺 Medical and Additional Needs

We welcome young people with a wide range of needs and will always do our best to support them. If your child has medical requirements, allergies, or additional support needs, please share this during booking or contact us in advance so we can plan appropriately.

🛡️Safety & Supervision

All activities are delivered by qualified instructors. To keep sessions safe and enjoyable, we rely on participants being able to follow instructions and engage positively. Instructors lead the activity itself, but the responsibility for a young person’s general conduct and readiness to take part remains with their parent or carer, who must stay on site to provide support if needed.

🎫 Important Booking Note

Only young people with a confirmed booking will be able to participate. We cannot accept on‑the‑door sign‑ups on the day.
