Community Action Days

Part of our Access to Adventure Programme

Our Community Action Days take place once a month and are completely free to attend. These sessions bring local people together to care for the places that matter most to our community, from the canal and towpaths to local woodland, greenspaces and the outdoor areas around the centre.

Whether you're a regular volunteer, looking to meet new people, complete volunteering hours, give something back to the community, or simply spend some time outdoors, everyone is welcome. No previous experience is required and all equipment, tools and guidance will be provided.

Tasks may include litter picking, path maintenance, habitat improvements, woodland management, site improvement projects and environmental conservation work.

Healthy snacks, drinks and hot chocolate are provided throughout the day, and we finish every session with a campfire debrief, creating a relaxed and welcoming space for volunteers to gather, share stories and enjoy some well-earned refreshments.

For those needing a warm-up, one of our meeting rooms will be available throughout the day as a comfortable communal space, complete with heating, hot drinks and plenty of room to sit, chat and take a break from the weather.

As a thank you for getting involved, everyone that attends a Community Action Day will receive a £5 voucher to use against a future activity session at the centre.
