Have a go at climbing outdoors and try the key skills you need to keep yourself and others safe on real rock. This half‑day taster session is designed for adults and young people aged 14+ who want a friendly, supportive introduction to outdoor climbing without the pressure of a full course.

You’ll get hands‑on experience with the basics: fitting your harness and helmet, tying in, belaying safely, using clear communication, and learning simple movement techniques that help you feel steady and in control on the rock. It’s a relaxed, confidence‑building session where you can try climbing at your own pace, ask questions, and get a feel for what outdoor climbing is really like.

Whether you’re brand new to climbing or have only tried a few sessions indoors, this taster gives you a safe, enjoyable first step into climbing outdoors and helps you decide if you’d like to progress to a full day or more advanced course.

Learn to Rock Climb - Adult Beginner Course

Beginner - Adult (16+) - Full Day Course

Spend a full day with us learning the core skills of outdoor rock climbing — from movement and footwork to ropework, belaying and safe decision‑making on real rock.

Our instructors will take you through the essential techniques you need to climb confidently outdoors. You’ll learn how to fit and use your equipment, tie the key knots, belay safely, communicate clearly with a partner, and move efficiently on the rock while understanding how to manage risk in a natural environment.

Throughout the day, we’ll support you as you build skills at your own pace, answer any questions you have, and help you develop the confidence to climb independently. Whether you’re brand new to climbing, looking to progress beyond indoor walls, or simply keen to enjoy a great day on real rock, this course gives you a solid foundation and an inspiring introduction to outdoor climbing.

Rock Climbing Development Course

Intermediate (lead belaying ability required) - Adult (16+) - 2 Day Course

Spend two full days developing the core skills you need to second confidently on traditional climbs, while enjoying a range of guided single‑pitch routes suited to your experience. This course is designed for adults and young people aged 16+ who can already lead belay and want to take the next step towards becoming more independent outdoors.

Across the two days, you’ll build a solid foundation in the key techniques that make seconding safe, efficient and enjoyable. You’ll learn how to follow a leader up a trad route, remove gear correctly, use clear climbing communication, and understand how a traditional climbing system works from the second’s point of view. Alongside this, you’ll refine your movement and footwork on real rock, giving you the confidence to climb more smoothly and make good decisions as you go.

You’ll also spend plenty of time on guided climbs chosen to match your ability, giving you real mileage on rock while practising the skills you’re learning. Your instructor will support you throughout, tailoring the pace and level of challenge to your goals and helping you understand how to apply these skills on different types of single‑pitch routes.

Whether you’re aiming to transition from indoor climbing, build experience before learning to lead, or simply want two days of high‑quality coaching on real rock, this course gives you the structured progression, hands‑on practice and supportive environment you need to move forward with confidence.
